How your fundraising supports Leuchie

It funds respite breaks

Each of our guests' short respite breaks are subsidised by half of what it actually costs to deliver them. This means we need to raise £1.5 million each year to deliver our service.

Our breaks are fantastic for both guests and their carers. Our specialised healthcare is available round the clock, and our venues are equipped with cutting edge technology to make stays as comfortable as possible.

Both guests and their carers can relax knowing that Leuchie is a safe place to relax, have fun, and switch off. Every pound you raise helps us support more carers to have a break!

It creates experiences

Fundraising enables us to offer so much more than a change of caring environment for our guests. It helps us provide a programme of activities, entertainment and outings.

It means we can provide specialist nursing and 1:1 physiotherapy for our guests, and make health referrals back to the community on their behalf if needed. And, it allows us to provide freshly prepared meals and the chance to socialise in a warm and friendly environment.

It helps us to reach more people

Raised funds mean we can continue to reach as many people as possible ‘beyond the walls’ of Leuchie.

We now have a Leuchie at Home outreach service providing support to people throughout East Lothian, and fully accessible holiday cottages. Our online physiotherapy programs can be altered by guests once they have returned home, in collaboration with our in-house physiotherapist.

Kilt Walk Edinburgh

The Kiltwalk is Scotland's largest mass-participation charity walking event, where participants don tartan and walk varying distances to raise money for any Scottish charity of their choice.

We'd love for you to walk for Leuchie, in support of people living with neurological conditions. Kiltwalks are held in various Scottish cities.

Kelpies Experience

19th September 2026

Climb up inside the iconic Kelpies - the world’s largest equine sculptures. It's a unique and thrilling 25 metre aerial climb that takes you straight to the horse’s mouth.

Take on this incredible challenge for Leuchie and you'll be supporting people living with neurological conditions, and their families.

There is a £30 donation required at sign-up and a pledge to fundraise a minimum of £250 per person.

Discovery Mast Climb

19th September 2026

Take on an exhilarating experience aboard RRS Discovery! Ascend on a thrilling journey as you climb the ship’s historic rigging in the footsteps of the 1901 crew, scaling the towering foremast of Captain Scott’s famous Antarctic ship, in a feat of courage rewarding you with unparalleled views over RRS Discovery and its home city, before zip-lining over 40 metres back to Dundee’s glimmering waterfront.

There is a £85 cost per participant and a £200 minimum fundraising target.
