Doddie Weir House is a dog-friendly* accessible, highly equipped cottage located in Dirleton, East Lothian, on the spectacular Firth of Forth coast of Scotland.

It sleeps six people in total, two with fully accessible beds in a highly equipped ground floor room with adjacent bath and shower and toilet. It's very spacious and has plenty of room for disabled people and their families or carers to spend quality time together.

The cottage has its own peaceful gardens with private parking provided on site.

Thanks to generous grant funding from the previous owners of the cottage - The Lin Berwick Trust - we can now also offer 50% grant funding to anyone booking a holiday from a selected batch of dates.

2026 Holidays in January, February, March, October, November and December will be eligible for 50% grant funding, whilst it lasts.

Frequently asked questions

We welcome pets to Doddie Weir House for an additional cost. However, please be aware that the garden is not fully enclosed. We also supply a dog hamper for use whilst on holiday which consists of throws for the furniture, food bowls, poo bags and tennis balls.

We don’t provide slings for the overhead or mobile hoist. Both of these hoists have loop fixings so are only compatible with loop slings and not clip slings. There is a medium sling in the storeroom for the stand aid.

The ground floor of the house is accessible. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen, lounge, conservatory, accessible twin bedroom, accessible bathroom and utility room.

There is access to the outside seating area from both the accessible bedroom and the conservatory. The upper floor is not fully accessible - this floor consists of a bathroom, double bedroom, twin bedroom and lounge area.

Arrival time is from 3pm and departure time is 11am.
