Purpose:
To ensure lotions are stored in the designated storage area and to protect staff and guest against inappropriate use.
Procedure:
- Any creams or lotions which are brought by the guest for use during their stay can be stored in the guest’s top drawer of chest/bedside cabinet.
- Any prescribed lotions are to be recorded on the topical creams chart and signed for by the registered nurse as per skin integrity: use of creams policy.
- Lotions should be stored in their original named containers and not dispensed in to smaller unlabeled tubs.
- Guests requiring non-prescriptive cream can request that Leuchie purchase this on their behalf with the guests consent.
- Any unused cream will be returned with the guest.
