Assessing the Needs of our Guests Procedure Notes – Guest assessment on arrival

Stage 7 – Guest assessment on arrival

Guests who arrive at Leuchie must be formally admitted through our guest admission procedures. The purpose of this allows us to:

  • Conduct a thorough consolidation of the information we have gathered pre-admission and allows any further information to be added or amended.
  • complete our risk assessments and identify any action we should take where risks have been identified
  • ensure appropriately labelled medication has been brought
  • ensure adequate supplies of personal care products have been supplied
  • ensure guests comfort and safety and facilitate a smooth settling in period

Procedure

  • Guests arrive at reception where they are warmly welcomed and their time of arrival is recorded and belongings named. Nurses on duty are advised that the guest has arrived.
  • The guest is shown up to their bedroom by a member of the care team where the admission process will take place.
  • A registered nurse will follow our admission process following the steps of our Guest admission checklist which is saved.
  • Where any concerns are raised about Leuchie’ s ability to meet the needs of the guest, following completion of our risk assessments then the nurse in charge should be made aware at the earliest opportunity
