Leuchie Lighthouse Trail is here!

North Berwick has a new landmark trail to explore this summer. From 1 July to 21 August 2026, 15 giant lighthouse sculptures will appear across the town as part of the Leuchie Lighthouse Trail, a free public art trail created in partnership with Wild in Art.

The trail follows the success of the Big Hare Trail, which Leuchie previously ran with Wild in Art and which proved a huge hit with locals and visitors alike. Building on that success, the Lighthouse Trail brings a new design and a new species of sculpture to North Berwick’s streets — but the same spirit of community, creativity and fun.

Each lighthouse has been individually designed and decorated by a range of local and national artists, transforming the town into an exciting open-air gallery. Families can follow the trail at their own pace, discovering a different design at every turn while exploring Leuchie’s hometown of North Berwick.

The trail is more than a summer of art — it’s a chance to support Leuchie, the National Respite Charity. Every lighthouse sponsored and every trail visit helps us to provide vital respite breaks for people living with neurological conditions and their carers, giving individuals and their families the chance to rest, recharge and reconnect.

North Berwick businesses and organisations have thrown their support behind the trail, with each lighthouse being sponsored. At the end of the trail the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for Leuchie.
