Leuchie Lighthouse Trail delights thousands and raises £255,000
07 September 2026
The Leuchie Lighthouse Trail has come to an end with an exciting auction at The Marine Hotel in North Berwick. At the auction, it was announced that the trail raised £255,000 for Leuchie’s vital respite breaks for people living with neurological conditions and the families who care for them.
The Lighthouse Trail, held in partnership with Wild in Art, ran from 1 July to 21 August, bringing 15 individually decorated lighthouses to streets, parks and public spaces across North Berwick. More than 4,000 trail maps were downloaded or picked up in print, as families, visitors and locals explored the town in search of every sculpture.
The trail officially came to a close on Friday 4 September, when the lighthouse sculptures went under the hammer. Guests enjoyed music and canapés before a night of bidding, hosted by Wild in Art Co-Founder and Managing Director Charlie Langhorne, with Scottish auctioneer and broadcaster Natasha Raskin Sharp taking to the podium.
Cristina McCashey, Major Events and Engagement Lead for Leuchie, said:
“We are overwhelmed by the support Leuchie received for our Lighthouse Trail this summer. More than £255,000 was donated, a transformational amount for the charity and the families who rely on us. Everyone who supported the trail, both within our community and further afield, should feel incredibly proud of the difference they have made. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of so many people living with neurological conditions and their families.”
Every pound raised will support Leuchie’s respite breaks and outreach services, giving people living with neurological conditions — and the families who care for them — a real chance to rest, reconnect and recharge.
The trail was made possible by headline sponsors McInroy & Wood and Whisky 1901, alongside a wide range of local businesses who each sponsored an individual lighthouse
Thank you to everyone who followed the trail, sponsored a lighthouse, or joined us on auction night — you’ve helped make sure Leuchie can keep reimagining respite for years to come.
