A view from the Quiet Room

On incoming Monday guests migrated to the Quiet Room after dinner. There was no activity so Rosie jumped in and organised a quiz with a Scottish theme. A great start to the holiday and meant that I met some of the other guests. Rosie will be sorely missed as she has set her sights on higher things, eventually ending up in London, after she has completed all her studies.

I was bothered by a fly. Was it a sibling of the one that met it’s death in blog 17? Anna did a mindfulness session and had peppermint & lemon essential oil which she rubbed on my arm and the fly left me alone. Maybe I will patent this fly repellent!

I had a trip out to Fringe by the Sea. Jim was my pusher for the evening. We arrived a little early for the show to start so we took in the festival atmosphere.

Here’s a photo of me and Jim with some of the other revellers in the background. I posted it on my school class website and got back comments such as ‘are you twins?’ much to Jim’s amusement.

The show was Sandi Thom, a one-hit wonder, which was the only song I recognised. The capacity crowd were enthusiastic and sang along to all the words of that hit. It was fine for the £14 I paid … just.

Guests were asked what they would like to see on the big screen. There was no consensus whether it was to be a romcom or an action/adventure.  Jim said he’d recently seen The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and said it was an action adventure but with a comedic twist. It appealed to my quirky sense of humour and I’ve recommended it to all my friends. Well worth a view if you’ve got Prime.
