Research and innovation feeds the future design of products and improvements, and we feel it’s important to involve guests in research that can make a difference to their lives, and people living with similar conditions.
We are keen to support our guests to be involved in research. This could look like:
- Improving design of products, such as remote controls, by testing the products with the designer in Leuchie.
- Being part of co-design projects to help design possible uses of service robots in care, for example.
- Participating in qualitative studies to help researchers gauge how their technology may be perceived, for example, as in a study about the acceptability of using technologies in the home to monitor health and wellbeing.
- Research related to a neurological condition such as being involved in the Speak Unique trial to further develop technology for people with dysarthric speech
- Improving healthcare data linking by participating in studies to share data with NHS hospitals, for example.
