Andrew’s Chimneypieces Calendar: A Creative Fundraiser Supporting Leuchie

Andrew has spent more than a decade creating a yearly project that documents an aspect of his life or something that feels ordinary at first glance, but becomes extraordinary when brought together as a whole. In 2025, that tradition became something deeply connected to Leuchie.

Living with Parkinson’s disease, Andrew has stayed at Leuchie on three occasions and is grateful for the respite, care, and support it offers to people living with long term neurological conditions. During a visit in 2024, Andrew began to notice the many beautiful chimneypieces throughout Leuchie House. Each one slightly different, each part of the building’s history.

On his most recent stay in September 2025, Andrew decided to photograph every chimneypiece in the house. What started as quick snapshots became a unique calendar celebrating the character, heritage, and continued purpose of Leuchie. A collection that had never been brought together in this way before.

Since 2023, Andrew has also incorporated a fundraising element into his annual projects, inviting people to make a donation to Leuchie while taking part. This year, the calendar became both about Leuchie and for Leuchie, helping raise vital funds to support our services for people living with neurological conditions and their carers.

We are also grateful to Chris Lockett of Lockett Bros Wine and Whisky Merchant, who kindly donated a bottle of whisky as a prize for those who entered Andrew’s fundraising draw with a donation.

Alongside staying at Leuchie, Andrew also benefits from our Leuchie at Home service. Delivered in partnership with East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership, Leuchie at Home supports people living with a long-term neurological condition or stroke across East Lothian, from Dunbar to Port Seton. Each week, trained volunteers spend time with guests in their own homes, offering companionship and support while giving partners and carers valuable time to themselves.

Guests can choose how they spend their time, whether that is conversation, quizzes, listening to music, help with a hobby or technology, or going for a short walk when it is safe to do so. The service is about maintaining independence, connection, and quality of life.

Andrew’s calendar is a powerful reminder of how creativity, lived experience, and generosity can come together to make a real difference. We are incredibly thankful to Andrew for his continued support of Leuchie and for helping share our story in such a thoughtful and personal way. He raised an amazing £3,120 for Leuchie so we can continue to support people living with neurological conditions.
